Continuing more than a fifteen-year association in the financial services industry, Ramsey continues his passion of working one on one with individuals to achieve their financial goals. His hope is to serve the greater good for individuals who have allowed him the opportunity to help them plan their financial future rather than having it handed to them. He works with his clients in developing the most appropriate and pertinent options to their individual situation and then aligns these strategies with a wide array of available products and services available through Equitable and its subsidiaries.
Ramsey became affiliated with the financial services industry after a long and storied career coaching many of the nation’s premier collegiate women swimmers at Iowa State University from 1979 to 1997. Ramsey translated his own personal individual success in athletics toward developing individuals to their optimum capabilities. Four times, he was selected by his peers as the Big 8 Coach of the Year. Through his personal approach to planning and compassion, he has built strong relationships that transcend the client/advisor relationship.
Ramsey is licensed to conduct General Securities sales in stocks, bonds and mutual funds (Series 7 and 6) as well as possessing the required State Securities registration requirements (Series 66 & 63). Officially titled as an investment advisor representative (IAR) with Equitable Advisors LLC, he can offer independent recommendations and/or as a registered representative of Equitable Advisors and an agent of Equitable Network, bringing vast resources to the client’s availability.
Community involvement through many philanthropic groups as well as active leadership roles in the lives of young people and his church, Ramsey continues to advance his role of pride and involvement in Ames and the surrounding communities of central Iowa. Ramsey and Linda have been long time residents of Ames, owned a business and raised two children. Lydia, a Buena Vista University ’03 graduate, works as a seventh grade teacher in Phoenix, AZ is married with two boys. Graham attended Augustana College, SD, started as quarterback for the Vikings and graduated in Dec ’05. He is married, resides in Sioux Falls, SD working as CEO and a Retirement Planning Specialist with Van Horn Financial Services in Sioux Falls.
